Live Music at the Hare!
Fast becoming the top small venue to play in the Pacific Northwest, Redhare hosts first-rate acoustic music
practically every Friday and Saturday night. The music here features the best in folk, acoustic rock,
jazz and other genres performed by skilled singer/songwriters from Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los
Angeles and beyond. We've presented legendary performances by greats like Jefferson Airplance, Alice
Stuart, Moe Dixon, Marty Balin, James Lee Stanley and more. We also have seen some of the best up and coming
artists as well.
The philosophy of Redhare is simple, rare and very necessary: we treat musical artists with respect. They
share a wonderful gift with us, and deserve to be treated well, listened to without coffee grinders and
pool balls cracking in the background, and paid happily, from ticket sales to a fortunate audience.
Our cover charge is currently a nominal $10.00 (some special instances may be more), yet the audience is treated
to a "concert hall in a living room" experience. We have one of the finest stages around, and although
it is a relatively tiny room, the sound is world-class and the lighting is top-notch.
This concept is fairly new to the Astoria area, and I am proud and fortunate to be providing an alternative to
the same old 'bar scene'. We appreciate the support we are getting, and look forward to many years of memorable music
in the future.
