Brooke Keitel
Brooke Keitel's artwork is influenced by the Pacific Northwest landscape. Her abstract expressionist paintings are
created with the Columbia River and the Willamette in mind. She says that her artwork "has a quality of liquid
essence taken from the lush watery landscapes that encompass the bodies of water that surrounds my daily life."
Keitel has studied art at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and is a board member of the Mosaic Arts Alliance.
She shows her work in local galleries and along the Pacific coast.
Artist Statement
It's become relevant that modern society invests too much money into ones own troubles, i.e. alcoholism, drug abuse,
sex abuse, or simply phobias. Society's money for healing such illnesses has been among prescription drugs and
psychotherapists.
Painting is my basis for healing such troubles. Depression, anxiety, fear and loss are just powerful voices
of creativity lurking for an expressive out.
Through painting, a loud form of personality and feeling take that draft of troubled emotion from stage to stage,
in which vexed beauty and color exit onto canvas.
In the final, I have secured a piece of my life and emotion in the form of art, in which others can experience.
