Newsgroups & Web Based Forums

Newsgroups

This is provided for the opportunity to present ideas about the Columbine tragedy. While true discussion and exchange of ideas is welcome, the list is NOT unrestricted. We really want Columbine students and staff to come here and read the many wonderful thoughts that others have sent here, so if there is anything really obnoxious and hateful, I will exercise my judgment to remove it. (This did happen once.)

Several well intentioned people have sent messages that included the Happy99 virus. The senders don't realize they are sending it, for it sends itself. I erase them as soon as I see them, but it sometimes takes a while to see it, so it may be there a while. You can't get it
from reading a message; just don't download a file that has an .exe extension.

Monitoring this web site allows me to answer questions and stop rumors, too. (John Adsit - Moderator)

Webmaster's Note to the community of Littleton:

Newsgroups, due to the free-speaking nature of the Internet, can be quite divisive, insensitive and often downright abusive. The above moderated newsgroup, in contrast, is a relatively safe place to discuss surrounding issues, and to view heartfelt expressions of sympathy from the entire world. Beware of other Usenet groups, which I will not even list here.

Links to Other Memorial Web Sites

This is by no means, an exhaustive list. It's just one I've put together from the JeffCo newsgroup and other links pages. If you know of a site that should be here, please feel free to email me.

Other School Memorial Sites

This is by no means, an exhaustive list. It's just one I've put together from searches. If you know of a site that should be here, please feel free to email me. I would especially like to find memorial sites for other recent school shootings in the hopes of connecting the Littleton community with others around the country who have experiences that might help them with the healing process, and vice versa. Some of the events I am having a hard time finding anything on include: Fayetteville, TN; Edinboro, PA; Pearl, MS; Moses Lake, WA; Olivehurst, CA; Grayson, KY; Bethel, AK; Pomona, CA and Richmond, VA.
